Abstract

This obituary commemorates the life and academic achievements of
Manfred Kühleitner (1967–2022), Austrian mathematician, researcher,
teacher, and editor. It reviews his contributions to analytic number
theory, especially in the asymptotic analysis of arithmetic functions,
lattice point problems, and related counting questions. The article also
highlights his later interdisciplinary work in life sciences and growth
modelling, his dedication to mathematics education, and his service to
the mathematical community, including his role as Managing Editor of
Uniform Distribution Theory. Beyond his scientific achievements,
the obituary emphasizes his kindness, collegiality, and lasting impact
on students, collaborators, and friends.
