Abstract

The internal structure of medical injection pump nozzles often suffers from issues such as excessive internal flow viscosity, leading to the accumulation of drug particles in corners. This results in inefficient delivery of drug microparticles during traditional subcutaneous injections, posing severe challenges to the clinical translation of biopharmaceuticals and microparticle-based drug formulations. By combining fluid mechanics methods, this study innovatively designed a new multi-stage nozzle structure and optimized the parameters of the multi-stage injector. The deficiencies of conventional nozzles were analyzed, and an improved nozzle structure scheme was proposed. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation technology was employed to verify and optimize the performance of the new structure. Simulation results demonstrated that the improved nozzle structure enhanced drug delivery speed by 18% and increased injection efficiency by 50%.
