Art design is one of the most popular majors in colleges and universities because it is widely used. Quality education reform attaches great importance to the diversification of education, especially the major of art design, which should reflect this characteristic. This paper first briefly analyzes the reasons and influences of the diversified development of art education in colleges and universities and then discusses the embodiment and development trend of the diversification of this major from the aspects of professional institutions, regional characteristics, courses, and teachers. Finally, according to the shortcomings of art design education and teaching in domestic colleges and universities, the author proposes the corresponding development measures to promote diversification.
