Abstract
The present paper deals with the recent development of the theory of thermoelasticity. The change of basic equations of thermoelasticity, for different type of thermoelastic parameter s, under different condition has been shown in this paper to achieve Lord and Shulman theory and Green and Naghdi theories of generalized thermoelasticity. Relevant literatures on thermoelasticity are also re-examined.
