Abstract

VR technology, as a new type of immersive technology, can be used in interior interaction design to make the space more realistic, the spatial effect more tense, and the design style more distinct. This paper focuses on the interaction experience of VR interior design as a research, based on the theory of spatial cognition, to study the cognitive position of the user in the virtual environment, the cognition of the extra human center distance, the cognitive characteristics of the egocentric distance, and to explore the human perceptual characteristics of the virtual space in all dimensions. The VR interaction design optimization model and guidelines are created on this basis, and interior design example application research is executed. In the VR technology interior design project, the task completion time and subjective evaluation (5.884) of the entity tracker interaction method are significantly better than those of the joystick interaction method. It shows that the integration of the entity tracker interaction technology into the interior design project enhances the user’s visual experience, achieves the immersive effect, and is able to carry out autonomous interaction, reflecting the feasibility of VR technology used in the design of interior decoration programs.
